ChatGPT prompt for writing a launch announcement

This is the prompt we run for a product, service, or feature launch. From your facts only, it produces three coordinated pieces: the post, the email, and the website banner. Its strict rule: no invented statistics, no empty superlatives.

The prompt to copy

We're launching {thing} on {date}. What it is: {paste}. Who it's for: {who}. Price: {price}.
Write the launch set:
1. LinkedIn/X announcement post — ≤150 words, open with the problem it solves, one CTA.
2. Email to our list — ≤200 words, 2 subject line options.
3. Website banner version — ≤25 words.
Facts and claims only from what I gave you: no invented stats, no "revolutionary/game-changing."

Replace the fields on the thing you are launching, the date, the audience, and the price, then paste the description. The set comes back ready to schedule, all three pieces aligned on the same message.

When to use it

The day you are preparing a launch and need to cover several channels at once. The prompt avoids the repeated work of writing the same message three times, and makes sure the post, the email, and the banner tell the same story.

What you get back

  1. An announcement post under 150 words, opening with the problem it solves.
  2. An email under 200 words, with two subject lines to choose between.
  3. A banner version under 25 words.
  4. Three pieces built from your facts only, with no empty superlatives.

Real example: launch brief → banner

Input: Brightside, an 8-person brand agency, is launching an offer. Maya, the founder, gives this, as-is:

thing: "5-Day Brand Diagnostic", a fast audit of the visual identity
who: small craft businesses unsure about rebranding
price: £1,500
(no client results yet, this is the first time we're selling it)

Output, the banner version:

Banner. Does your brand hold up on mobile? A 5-day diagnostic, £1,500. Book your slot.

Notice what the AI did not do: it did not add “already trusted by dozens of businesses” or a satisfaction rate. Maya had said there were no results yet, so the banner sticks to the problem, the format, and the price, the only facts supplied. The announcement stays defensible at a prospect’s first question.

This prompt ships inside the kit, alongside the other 49 in the library and the full Brightside worked examples.

Frequently asked questions

Does this prompt work with Claude or Gemini?
Yes. It relies on no ChatGPT-specific feature: paste it as-is into Claude or Gemini and the behavior is the same.
Why ban words like "revolutionary"?
Because they say nothing and ring false. A reader wants to know which problem you solve, not to be told it is amazing. The prompt bans these superlatives to force you to open with the concrete problem, which always makes a better announcement.
Can the AI add numbers to make the launch sound stronger?
No, and that is the core rule: only the facts you supply. If you give no number, there is none in the announcement. An invented statistic in a launch post is the kind of mistake that turns against you at the first question.
